The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking
for a Network Engineer to support our government customer located
in Kwajelein, Marshall Islands.

The position requires intermediate hands-on experience in network,
management, and implementation support for enterprise networks.
This role will contribute to all network and infrastructure Network
Enterprise Center (NEC) Baseline Support requirements and mission
support as required for the NEC at United States Army Garrison -
Kwajalein Atoll.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide hands-on support as a technical contributor as required for
the NEC supported Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN) including
NIPR, SIPR, VoIP to:
Perform network discovery and conduct fault analysis. This service
shall be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, less
authorized service interruptions to meet and exceed contract
service level agreements (SLA).
Monitor the common user ICAN and LAN by utilizing enterprise
management software to monitor network performance, analyze network
activity, and maintain network availability.
Provides support to perform installation of various network
equipment/hardware (including wired, data systems, and VoIP).
Assist in the maintenance of network infrastructure security and
the maintenance of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
configuration templates and checklists.
Support Unified Communication with installation, configuration, and
maintenance of Cisco Voice and Media Gateways.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of detailed network
documentation including Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP),
network drawings, ConOps, rack elevations, IP address assignment
schema, and utilization reports.
Conduct event management on common user network infrastructure and
monitoring services.
Manage common user network equipment/software, to include
configuration and capacity management.
Maintain an effective and efficient configuration
management/configuration control program for DoDIN unclassified and
classified systems to ensure all hardware and software are properly
identified and documented, and proper change control procedures are
in place and followed.
Operate and maintain common core (backbone infrastructure) network
infrastructure equipment.
Implement and operate common user port authentication IAW Army
Enterprise guidance; for example, 802.1x.
Develop technology strategies for modernization of the network
infrastructure.
Create information and tasks for projects to proactively improve
network services to the customer.
As a part of multidisciplinary project teams, develop and assist in
implementing solutions for persistent network infrastructure
issues.
Automate routine tasks and monitoring of the network
infrastructure.
Develop specifications for network equipment and installation
infrastructure in support of Military Construction, Army (MCA)
projects, Unspecified Minor Military Construction, Army (UMMCA)
projects, and local minor construction/renovation/expansion
projects.
Maintain strong working relationships within the Networks Work
Center and with other work centers.
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree preferred, not required and at least 4 or more
years' experience in a relevant role.
Required 8570.01-M Baseline and Computing Environment (CE)
certifications for IAT-II.
Must possess and maintain certifications IAW AR 25-2
Must possess and maintain certification Cisco Certified Network
Associate (CCNA)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong technical aptitude, ability to research, and solve complex
issues independently.
Experience with Cisco Unified Communication products, specifically,
Voice and Media Gateways.
Significant experience working with network monitoring and
authentication tools.
Proven experience in network administration, routing and
switching.
Ability to relocate and reside at the USAG-KA in the RMI. You must
meet current vaccination requirements for infectious diseases to
enter the RMI. Must also be willing to meet any future vaccination
requirements if mandated by the RMI.
Pre-employment health screening is required due to the island's
remote location and limited medical and dental capabilities.
Ability to ride a bicycle or walk at least 2 miles to/from work
daily. There are no personally owned vehicles allowed on USAG-KA.
Transportation is primarily by bicycle.
Ability to travel by plane or small sea-going vessel between
working locations.
May be required to work overtime.
Rotational callback and emergency duty are requirements of this
position.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Top Secret clearance or Top Secret eligible.
Valid U.S. Passport
