Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center provides a large network of
post-acute rehabilitation facilities to patients across the region.
Over the past 25 years, our care network has grown to include a
49-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11
cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness
centers. As part of the UT Health East Texas system, UT Health
Rehabilitation Center has access to some of the most advanced
therapy techniques and care available - including physical,
occupational and speech therapies. We also offer cardiovascular and
cardiopulmonary rehabilitation - with our Tyler center boasting the
first intensive cardiac rehabilitation program in East Texas. At UT
Health Rehabilitation Center, you'll find a team of caregivers
dedicated to helping patients restore and maintain their
independence.UT Health East Texas EMS/Air1 has more than 65
ambulances, three active helicopters and one helicopter in reserve
that are strategically located across the region and emergency
teams providing rapid access to care. UT Health EMS ground
transports cover all of Henderson and Panola and most of Smith,
Cherokee and Wood counties and the city of Henderson. UT Health EMS
is the only ground transport service in the region accredited by
the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). In
addition, UT Health East Texas AIR 1 is accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).We
have an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team at UT
Health East Texas as a Chief Financial Officer supporting UT Health
Rehabilitation Center, EMS and Air1.POSITION SUMMARYThe Chief
Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall financial
administration for the facility. Additional areas of responsibility
may include: general accounting, data processing, materials
management, information systems, and financial reporting. This
position ensures that the internal controls are adequate to
safeguard the assets of each entity and that the accounting systems
are sufficient to generate accurate and timely financial
reporting.Responsibilities
- Help create and implement initiatives in order to build and
grow the facilities.
- Help analyze and see ideas from a financial mindset in order to
help ensure the success of future endeavors.
- Consult the Regional CFO and Corporate office personnel
concerning the facility's financial affairs, financial goals, and
objectives.
- Develop the operating policies and procedures.
- Ensure the accurate review of product line analysis, and
consult with the facility CEO's and Regional CFO.
- Prepare financial and management reports and prepare and
administer the facility's annual operation and capital budget.
- Partner with facility CEO's and other executive team members on
preparing the annual facility business plan.
- Plan and coordinate functions and activities of assigned
departments. Responsibilities include evaluating performance and
initiating or recommending personnel actions and maintaining good
employee relations with department staff.
- Ongoing monitoring of expense structure to identify
opportunities for efficiencies and cost reduction.
- Actively participate in Board of Trustees, Joint Venture Board,
Medical Staff and community meetings.
- Direct preparation of projections to inform facility and
Regional leadership of anticipated performance in future
periods.
- Review and maintain a healthy revenue cycle to ensure
consistent cash flow.
- Work with the Region and joint venture partner on managed care
negotiations to maximize payer contracts.QualificationsEducation &
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance or related field
required; Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
in Hospital Administration or Business Administration
preferred.
- Experience as a hospital CFO; Experience in an integrated
health delivery system strongly preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Current knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, state and
federal regulatory standards.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively
communicate ideas, problems, instructions (written and oral) with
corporate management staff, facility management staff and
employees.
- Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, recommend, and
implement courses of action that would improve the functioning of
the company.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines, policies and
procedures.
- Ability to use sound judgment in decision making and react
calmly and effectively in an emergency situation.
- Knowledge of strategic planning and short and long-range goal
implementation.
